Thank you all for taking the time to check out my website! As I create my first blog post I can't help but reflect deeply on how I've stepped into this life that I am so grateful for. My Mother has always been my biggest fan. In fact, she will always be my first favorite vocalist. From a very young age, I learned to sing through nursery rhymes with my Mother. She would sing them to me with the loving glow of her soul. Her love for me was so profound & healing that it struck a chord with me. Before words, I sang, & since then, I haven't stopped. I yearn to share this joy that I have found in singing. I've worked my entire life to do what I know I'm meant to do--sing in Manhattan. I will never forget the first few times I sang to my close friends and family. I was in shock by their reactions. They all encouraged me to try out for a TV show singing competition, but it never felt like the right path for me. Singing has never felt like a competition for me. I believe that we were all meant to sing. To have the freedom to be able to express ourselves in our truest form as pure light wave beings. So where does that leave me on my path of expression? In the heart of the greatest city in the world. Guided by the voices of the past & the prospects of the future. Since moving to Manhattan I've achieved goals I never thought I would do. I'm following in the footsteps of my heroes & learning more about the history of Black American Music every single day. I hope to give you all more details about the music I have been working on for my DEMO really soon. I'm currently finalizing a repertoire after five long years of introspection & performance. I do have good news! I know what my first single is going to be and I will be announcing the name of the tune in my next weekly blog post :) For those who may want to guess, here's a helpful hint--A country dance was being held in a garden...
